OUR STORY
| TEAM ANGELWOLF

Rio 21 a person with disabilities

In a world often inaccessible and exclusive, Team AngelWolf was born from a deeply personal journey of a British expat family in Dubai, UAE. A decade ago, our eldest child Rio, now 21 and living with a rare chromosome condition (1q44 deletion denovo), discovered a passion for inclusive races, particularly triathlons. Rio's dad or younger sister would help him participate by swimming while pulling him in a kayak, cycling with him seated on an adapted bike, and running while pushing his running chair. Together, they've conquered distances from sprints to Half Ironmans, marathons, ultra distances, and obstacle courses, always including Rio.

Rio has participated in over 500 races internationally, covering more than 15,000 km. These races have given him a sense of passion and purpose, making him feel included within the community. Globally, this has showcased the transformative power of sports for individuals with disabilities.

OUR MISSION

Inspired by Rio's experience and the community's desire for inclusion, we founded Team AngelWolf, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing Inclusive Impactivity for all. Our mission aligns with several UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • Impact Talks: Sharing our story and mission to promote inclusion and accessibility (SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities).

  • Impact Workshops: Focusing on accessibility and inclusion to educate and empower communities (SDG 4: Quality Education).

  • Impact Activities: Offering opportunities for community inclusion through sports and outdoor activities (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being).

  • Impact Consultations: Assisting companies and communities in becoming more accessible and inclusive (SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities).

THE PROBLEM
ACCESSIBILITY CHALLENGES

Accessibility remains a global challenge. As we progressed in our mission, we noticed significant disparities in accessibility, particularly for individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and minority groups in deprived and crisis-stricken nations. We realized there were few opportunities for genuine community inclusion with equity. Questions arose:

  • Why aren't more people with disabilities participating in community races?

  • Why don't we see more wheelchair users or elderly individuals enjoying nature?

  • Where are the elderly and disabled in disaster evacuation scenes?

We discovered that the absence of purpose-built chairs limits many people's ability to enjoy outdoor activities, hindering both physical movement and community inclusion.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to have sponsored chairs gifted for free and used in various ways to fulfill many of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. This project is a solution-focused, social impact movement aiming for Inclusive Impactivity.

THE SOLUTION
| IMPACT MOBILITY CHAIR (IMO)

After participating in over 500 races, we identified necessary improvements to the chairs we used. Our solution is to design our own Impact Mobility Chairs (IMO), funded through corporate sponsorships, to be gifted to those who truly need them but cannot afford them.

Team AngelWolf IMO Chairs offer:

  1. Wellness: Empowering individuals with disabilities to participate in sports and outdoor activities, fostering inclusive engagement and a sense of community (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being).

  2. Connection: Facilitating social inclusion for the elderly, ensuring they remain an integral part of social life (SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities).

  3. Relief: Providing mobility solutions for marginalised groups in developing nations and disaster-stricken areas, contributing to the restoration of normalcy and well-being (SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities).

SPONSORSHIP OPTIONS

We invite you to assist in Phase 2, which includes the industrial design, creation of essential components, assembly, and advanced testing of the prototype IMO Chairs.

WHY GET INVOLVED?

Accessibility and inclusion affect us all. 1 in 6 people have a disability, and 83% of disabilities are acquired after birth. Therefore, accessibility and inclusion should be a concern for everyone. It's about living by example for the next generation and fulfilling our Sustainable Social Responsibility.

Team AngelWolf envisions a global ripple effect, creating meaningful interactions and fostering connections that transcend physical limitations. Join us in this transformative journey and Social Impact Movement to empower communities with purpose-built chairs, one at a time.

BeAnIncluder ... LeaveNoBodyOut ... LeaveNoBodyBehind

Together, let's be catalysts for sustainable social impact, erasing lines of exclusion and paving the way for community, active living, adventure, and sport for all.
